The Juneau Police Department Crime of the Week for Friday is in reference to a vehicle theft and arson.
Sgt. Paul Hatch said in a release that a Juneau resident called JPD on Sept. 28 to report their silver 2000 Ford F250 pickup truck with a snow plow was stolen from a residence in the 10000 block of Glacier Highway. No ignition keys were inside the vehicle.
The truck was later found near Echo Cove at the end of Glacier Highway after being totaled and set on fire, the release states.
Before the truck was stolen, it had a red āVā shaped BOSS snow plow on its front. The plow was missing when the truck was found and is believed to have been removed from the truck before it was set on fire.

JPD seeks assistance. How much are they paid again?
Ill lay odds that the owner stole his truck, kept the plow for his other (or a friends) truck, and is collecting insurance.
Note it was pointed out that the keys were not in the ignition yet the condition of the ignition when found was not mentioned.
Just my opinion of course. But ,,,,
The keys...
Under the sun visor isn't the same as the ignition.
JPD does a great job figuring
JPD does a great job figuring these out. Police work requires assistance from the community. Cops need tips and leads to work from. I am sure they are not looking for citizens to do a door to door canvass, but if someone knows something I am sure they would appreciate the tip.
My neighbor...
...just put a Boss vee plow on his truck. But my silence can be bought if he plows my driveway this winter...
