Stolen truck set on fire is JPD Crime of the Week

The Juneau Police Department Crime of the Week for Friday is in reference to a vehicle theft and arson.

Sgt. Paul Hatch said in a release that a Juneau resident called JPD on Sept. 28 to report their silver 2000 Ford F250 pickup truck with a snow plow was stolen from a residence in the 10000 block of Glacier Highway. No ignition keys were inside the vehicle.

The truck was later found near Echo Cove at the end of Glacier Highway after being totaled and set on fire, the release states.

Before the truck was stolen, it had a red ā€˜Vā€™ shaped BOSS snow plow on its front. The plow was missing when the truck was found and is believed to have been removed from the truck before it was set on fire.

Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is encouraged to log onto the Juneau Crime Line at and report the tip. Tipsters are guaranteed anonymity and can be rewarded.
