Troopers seek info on damaged door in Angoon building

Alaska State Troopers in Juneau are seeking information from the public about a criminal mischief case in the nearby Southeast city of Angoon.

Troopers said in a dispatch that the Angoon Village Public Safety Officer received a report on Tuesday that the furnace door in the Kootznoowoo Building was damaged.

An investigation revealed that sometime between Monday and Tuesday, an unknown person(s) damaged the furnace door, causing an estimated $150 in damages, according to troopers.

Nothing was reported missing from inside the furnace room. The case is still under investigation.

Troopers say if the public has any information to contact the Angoon VPSO or troopers in Juneau at 465-4000. (A phone number for the Angoon VPSO was not provided.)

Angoon is located on Admiralty Island, about 100 miles south of Juneau.
