Gun Club hosts Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot

About 80 people participated in the Juneau Gun Club’s Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot on Saturday.

The event featured contests of skill for youth and adults in shotgun, rifle, pistol and archery target shooting.

No live turkeys were shot. The only turkeys present were the frozen turkeys awarded to contest winners.

The Turkey Shoot is hosted in cooperation with the Juneau Shooting Sports Foundation, the Juneau Archery Club and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.

It has been an annual Juneau Gun Club tradition for the past 60 years.
