Police & Fire for Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012

Child abuse/neglect

• At 3:07 p.m. Monday, the Juneau Police Department conducted a confidential investigation into the report of domestic child abuse and neglect. Alcohol was involved.

Driving without a valid license

• At 7:49 p.m. Monday, Daemon Vergo, 38, was cited and released for driving without a valid operator’s licence in the 300 block of Egan Drive. His vehicle was impounded.

Fire and medical

• At 7:29 a.m. Monday, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to a general fire alarm on Willoughby Avenue. No fire found. Alarm sounded due to burnt food. CCFR assisted with ventilation and returned to service.

• At 12:11 p.m. Monday, CCFR stood by during a clean up of spilled fuel and activation of malfunctioning boiler on Threadneedle Street.

• At 1:42 p.m. Monday, CCFR provided transport for a male patient and medevac crew from Juneau International Airport to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 2:09 p.m. Monday, CCFR responded to a single-zone fire alarm that was accidentally activated. Returned to service.

• At 4:23 p.m. Monday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Third Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 5:15 p.m. Monday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Mendenhall Loop Road, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 5:25 p.m. Monday, CCFR provided transport for a male patient and medevac crew from JIA to BRH.

• At 6:57 p.m. Monday, CCFR responded to a smoke call on Glacier Highway. Smoke was due to malfunctioning boiler. Power was turned off until boiler can be repaired. Returned to service.

• At 8:53 p.m. Monday, basic life support care was given to a man on Thunder Mountain Road, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 9:07 p.m. Monday, CCFR responded to a general fire alarm on University Drive, and alarm was sounded due to burnt food. Returned to service.

• At 11:25 p.m. Monday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on All Season Drive, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 11:34 p.m. Monday, CCFR responded to a single-zone fire alarm at Sealaska Plaza, and no smoke or fire was found. Returned to service.

Theft

• At 2:42 p.m. Monday, a 69-year-old woman reported her $100 purse was stolen in the 10000 block of Crazy Horse Drive as well as fraudulent activity on her debit card. Investigation continues.
