The Juneau Police Department will be conducting firearms training at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center Range from about 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday.
Lt. David Campbell said in a release that members of the public can expect to hear noise from the training, as well as see strobes and emergency overhead lights from police cars in the area.
Campbell said it is important that officers have firearms training in low light conditions since Juneau experiences long periods of low light in the winter.
JPD apologized in advance for any annoyance the training might cause.
