Aspen Avenue burglary is JPD Crime of the Week

The Juneau Police Department Crime of the Week for Friday is in reference to a burglary.

Sgt. Paul Hatch said in a release that on Oct. 20, a resident in the 4100 block of Aspen Avenue called JPD to report their home had been burglarized between the hours of 1 a.m. and 5:15 a.m., apparently while the homeowner was sleeping.

An investigation revealed entry was made into the home through a garage door. Some of the stolen items include a folding Smith and Wesson knife, a 120 gigabyte iPod and a diabetes testing kit.

Anyone with information regarding this or any other crime is encouraged to log onto the Juneau Crime Line at and report the tip. Tipsters are guaranteed anonymity and can be rewarded.
