22-year-old pleads guilty to two felony drug charges

A Juneau woman has entered into a plea bargain that calls for her to serve a total of seven years in prison with five years suspended for two felony drug charges.

Veronica Morgan Parks, 22, changed her plea to guilty and entered into the plea agreement on Monday in Juneau Superior Court before Judge Philip Pallenberg.

Parks pleaded guilty to attempted misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second-degree for attempting to deliver heroin on or between April 27 and May 3.

She also pleaded guilty in a separate case to misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree for possessing hydrocodone on July 11.

The plea deal also calls for Parks to be on probation for a total of three years, to admit a sentencing aggravator and to pay full restitution for the drug buy funds.

Two other felony drug charges were dismissed in exchange for her pleas.

Sentencing in the case is scheduled for Dec. 19.
