Nope!

Never did like it when large buildings started showing up in town, IMHO we should have located a place out the road and placed them all there, thereby preserving Juneau. It's all lost now.

Yep, alaskabobc ....

... life ended in Juneau in 1964. It also ended when they built the airport, built the new State Office Building, built the new courthouse, improved downtown by putting utilities underground, built the new library, built the Nugget Mall, etc., etc.

It's all over, kaput, done.

You are entitled

to your opinion, just as I am mine. There is nothing creative or attractive about downtown anymore. I believe what has happened is quite sad! And I remember it as a nice place, but that was 60 plus years ago.

Funny, I see it as the exact

Funny, I see it as the exact opposite now. Downtown is a pit and the Valley is the heart of Juneau

Downtown Sucks

Let's be honest, Downtown Juneau is a butthole. Zero parking, narrow streets, high winds, bad weather, dirty bars and ugly buildings.

The gold-hungry white guys that built Juneau should have taken a hint from the natives and lived out the road. I guess that wasn't really practical back then considering the mines were all south... Oh well, now we're stuck with it!
