The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Storis is seen here in 1957. Stationed in Juneau, 1947, a group of volunteers is trying to bring the historic ship out of mothballs to become a waterfront museum in Juneau. That effort was delayed when the idea was cut from a federal appropriation bill this month. Museum backers say they’ll now directly approach the government agency that handles ship transfers.
