Ha ha ha

Eleven foot seas is all! Three weeks ago we smashed through fifteen footers with no problem at all, well except for the fifty or so who were sick.

Wait until Parnell's small, new open deck ferries get built

He's proposing to put 2 of them in Lynn Canal, so 2 can get cancelled more frequently than Le Conte.

choice

At least the folks in Haines have the choice off getting out of town by road.Where we live there is no choice, either fly or lay down big bucks for a motel. The ferry either broke down or the weather is bad.On top off all this we share the ferry with Tennakee and Gustavus how lame.

rjones51, Lame??

Way to be community oriented, there rjones. I proudly hail from Tenakee and am grateful for the ferry service that we get. I'm even grateful to be able to share the ferry with the communites that we are sharing with! I love to talk to people from Juneau, Hoonah and Angoon. You sound extremely selfish, which is unfortunate for you. You could find a way to enjoy those rides. They can be long and sometimes not very pleasant with the weather. But, you get to your destination safely and you know you're going to get there. I enjoy sharing, too bad you don't give yourself the opportunity to enjoy and be thankful for what you do have. That is what is lame.

Small, open deck ferries in Lynn Canal?

Nope. You are wrong about that,Ratfishtim.
The Governors proposal is to build 2 ferries for service in Lynn Canal. Both would be bigger than the MV LeConte.
Neither of them would be open deck.
