Lloyd Winter and Edwin Percy Pond between two unidentified men on a sidewalk in front of their photography studio.
Lloyd Winter & Percy Pond were the most prolific photographers in early Alaska. They bought out Juneau's first commercial photographer (George Landerkin) in 1891-1892. They were still in business in the 1940's, covering a vast range of Alaska history. Their business signature on postcards is often a stylized WPco.
Where was this located?
Certainly doesn't look at all like Juneau. Looking at the layout and background, I believe this was taken in Sitka. :-) BTW, See Harri's Plumbing sign in background?
Winter & Pond had several locations. First was next to Steam Laundry, then this one on South Franklin, finally on Main & Front against Telephone Hill.
Harri Plumbing has always been in Juneau.
