Police and fire calls for Jan. 1, 2013

Agency Assist/DUI

• On Sunday at 9:11 p.m. on the 3300 block of Mendenhall Loop Road Juneau Police Department officers assisted Alaska State Troopers with a DUI arrest. At 9:20 p.m., Gregory A. Loob, 53, Juneau was arrested by troopers for DUI and driving with a suspended license. He was booked into the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Fire calls

• At 3:11 a.m. Friday crews provided basic life support care to a man on North Street and took him to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• A life Alert activation brought rescue workers to Trafalgar Avenue Friday at 6:30 a.m. Assistance was provided and no transport was requested.

• At 9:31 a.m. Friday crews provided transport for a female patient and medevac crew from Bartlett Regional Hospital to the airport.

• At 11:28 a.m. Friday crews provided advanced life support care to a woman on Twelfth Street and took her to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 2:16 p.m. Friday crews were dispatched to an EMS call but found no patient. The same call was repeated at 2:53 p.m., with the same result. Crews returned to service in both cases finding no patient.

• Capital City Fire and Rescue responded to a non-injury vehicle accident at 5:40 p.m., no location listed, and provided basic care for a male patient. No transport was requested.

• Firefighters put out a vehicle fire on East Street between Fifth and Sixth Streets at 5:48 p.m. and then returned to service.

• At 5:53 p.m. Friday crews provided basic life support care to a man on Franklin Street and took him to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 7:38 p.m. Friday crews provided life support care to an infant on Lawson Creek Road. No transport was requested.

• Crews did a smoke investigation Friday at 8:32 p.m. on Arctic Circle and found no fire. Smoke was due to the close proximity of combustible materials to a wood stove.

• At 9:32 p.m. Friday crews provided advanced life support care to a man on Shell Simmons Drive and took him to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 11:27 p.m Friday crews provided advanced life support care to a woman on Amalga Street and took her to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 5:44 a.m. Saturday crews assisted JPD with a person on Franklin Street.

• At 8:49 a.m. Saturday crews provided advanced life support care to a man on Glacier Highway and took him to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 11:42 a.m. Saturday crews provided basic life support care to a Woman on F Street and took her to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 1:28 p.m. Saturday crews provided basic life support care to a woman on Twelfth Street and took her to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• Flooding was discovered in an neighboring apartment to a call on Twelfth Street and the building manager was notified. Water was shut off to the unit. Crews returned to service.

• At 1:53 p.m. Saturday crews provided basic life support care to a man on Fish Creek Road and took to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 3:34 p.m. Saturday crews provided advanced life support care to a man on Glacier Highway and took him to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 10:42 p.m. Saturday crews provided basic life support care to man on Highland Drive and took to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 11:26 p.m. Saturday crews provided basic life support care to a man on Thane Road and took him to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 4:59 a.m. Sunday crews provided advanced life support care to a man on Lemon Creek Road and took him to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• A fire alarm brought crews to Nancy Street Sunday at 5:08 p.m.. There was no fire and crews returned to service.

• At 10:16 p.m. Sunday crews provided basic life support care to a man on Franklin Street and took him to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Theft

• On Sunday at 12:52 p.m. a 66-year-old woman on the 9900 block of Stephen Richard Memorial Drive reported a theft of electricity.

Trespassing

• At 6:45 a.m. Monday on the 100 block of Franklin Street Mark Albert Brown, 46, was cited and released for criminal trespass. Police say alcohol was a factor.

Vandalism

• On Monday at 8:59 a.m. a 65-year-old man reported a truck slid into the ditch causing $300 damage to his mailbox on the 9700 block of Trappers Lane.
