Zoie Branch, four-and-a-half, is carried out of her first Polar Dip by Gina LaBar during Tuesday’s “Living The Dream 2013” ocean plunge at Auke Village Recreation Area.

Hearty souls enter the “Living The Dream 2013” Polar Dip from the beach at Auke Village Recreation Area into waters flowing in from Stephen’s Passage and beyond on Tuesday.

I grew up in Juneau and never

I grew up in Juneau and never once went swimming in the ocean. No thanks!! (Yes, in some ponds around Dredge Lake or the shallow pools by the glacier on 'hot' days.)
