We had that issue when we lived down town as well. We fill it up one day, and the very next day, all of the oil was gone. After getting a lock, you know what happens? The lock gets cut.
CBJ needs to direct more
CBJ needs to direct more funds for public safety concerns.
Maybe...
Their tank has a leak. Or their furnace was left running or needs a tuneup. People immediately jump to the oil theft conclusion...
Wow
That was what, 320 gallons? Neat trick. Making an assumption, 10 gallons at a time would mean 32 trips. 20 gallons at a time is 16 trips...Maybe they had a barrel in the back of a pickup and a pump.... then its only 6 trips
No trail beat through the snow? No witnesses? On the 500 block of east street?
Maybe?
Those oil delivery trucks have new suction pumps! Be wary!
Delivery....
I am not making any accusations... Just going to point out last year we were getting the min so 150gals ($350ish)? every 2 weeks all last winter (may be off on the amounts I would just call and ask for the minimal delivery took until beginning of this winter to pay it off). This year we said screw it and have just gotten our own and it takes 20gal a little more than a week to run out.
Just thought it was interesting, Either a neighbor was helping him/herself or something just wasn't right with delivery. All I know is It is costing me a lot less this year even with an added bedroom.
Excessive
Unless the culprit had access to some sophisticated pumping equipment I doubt very much if the $1200 worth of heating oil was stolen. Better check the tank and call the EPA or perhaps the fuel provider goofed.
