Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Haines arrested a man wanted for an assault on a Juneau-bound ferry.
Troopers said in a dispatch they arrested Easton Hagwood, 21, of Haines, on Friday on a $5,000 bench warrant issued from Juneau court for failure to appear on the original charge of second-degree assault.
Hagwood is facing a felony assault charge for the November incident aboard the M/V Columbia as it was traveling from Haines to Juneau. The Columbia is a ferry in the Alaska Marine Highway System.
Prosecutors say Hagwood punched another man in the face, knocking him out. The blow fractured the victim’s jaw so that it had to be wired shut for six weeks, according to an affidavit.

This incident would've never happened if there was a road between Juneau and Haines.....just sayin'!
