The passenger who was injured in a single vehicle rollover accident on Egan Drive is currently in “satisfactory condition” at a Seattle hospital.
Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman Susan Gregg said the patient, whom police identified as 23-year-old Juneau resident Siaosi Maake, is currently listed under that condition status.
Maake was a passenger in a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro that rolled over near the Egan Drive and Glacier Highway intersection Wednesday afternoon.
Both he and the driver, whom police say they believe is his cousin, 22-year-old Juneau resident Silver Maake, were taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital after the crash, and Maake was later medevaced to Seattle for further medical care.
Police said earlier that the Silver Maake lost control of the vehicle, and it left the roadway and struck a light pole alongside Egan Drive. Speed was a suspected factor in the crash, police said.

I am happy to hear that both will survive! Congrats to all rescuers and medical staff! Two young lives saved!
Indeed
Now let's save a few more. Put the driver in prison for reckless endangerment before he kills others.
It is in fact reckless endangerment not just a speeding ticket
If a bank robber is robbing the bank and gets shot in the process, he still has to do jail time, so why would this be any different. It was not an accident, nor a mistake, there are posted speed limits for a reason. The weather even said slow down. It is reckless endangerment, I would be shocked if he doesn't get charged. That man is really lucky he didn't kill himself or others.
How quickly
Man, we sure want our government to take away freedom from people so easily, it seems. Our prisons are already overcrowded (taking away people's freedom) for enough silly laws we already have.
If it was you and your family
If it was you and your family in a car that could have been killed by this unnecessary accident, then perhaps you would have a different opinion ROGER. It is absolutely necessary that some charge be brought against the driver for his careless actions that could have cost people their lives. Attempted murder, homicidal neglect, wreckless endangerment, and a few others come to mind. There are speed limits for a reason, but I guess he felt he was to good to obey the laws.
Roger your talking Shrubbish
I too, as well as most of Juneau have kids (a family) that travel up and down these roads everyday. We should be able to take safety in that kind of nature for granted. A 3000lb. chunk of metal at a high rate of speed can be as dangerous as most mass murder weapons. The world is harsh enough without others creating life threatening danger for us. Even the driver has family, so I don't understand were even a small percent of you think this is no big deal. What does the government have to do with any of that? I get the whole adrenalin rush thing, but there are other ways to get that fix without putting other peoples lives in grave danger. With that said, when my very young kids break the laws of simple morals, they get put in time out, so isn't prison for adults simply a time out (consequences for thier actions). Anyways, the dead horse is beat, nuff said.

My family rides the roads every day. The young people in the crash don't deserve prison time, as was suggested. Doesn't matter if you are Dem or Rep these days, no one gives a rats about common sense anymore.
I'm sure he/she will be cited for reckless driving and the accident will be a strong reminder of what he/she did. No reason to take years of a persons life for such.
