XXL_Man...

... What if the guy in the picture sues? We can't have the local rag be that involved in the community. God forbid their forum be used as a means to track down the perpetrator of numerous burglaries and dangerous home invasions and assaults. Their self perceived liability might be misconstrued as responsible. Eh, Mose? Chuck? Abbey?

I looked at the picture. He

I looked at the picture. He looks like a real punk. My guess is that he is a real punk. I hope the cops catch him and he ends up doing some time. Doing some time might teach him a lesson.

this guy will get probation

this guy will get probation at best. i heard of an incident recently where a guy who had assaulted and robbed a cab driver (given 16 months with 12 suspended and only served 2 and a half), was involved an another incident where he assaulted somebody else shortly after being released. for some reason he was left to wander the streets after his arraignment and then was caught shoplifting from a local business. The last two incidents happened while he was on parole/probation from his first assault. Why do we let these people wander our streets when they make it perfectly clear that they aren't going to follow the rules? Thanks judge! Thanks City Attorneys.

maybe he was underage?

Whatever the reason, shoplifting occurs daily in Juneau. Nice they were able to slap a picture to one of these. Liquour stores in Juneau probably put up with this pretty regularly.

bfranklin, you know you are right? I mean, as far as my experience goes, most skinheads are obama-bots. And shoplifters I'm sure make it a point to vote frequently.

assumptions

This picture just shows a guy carrying a bottle of whiskey. Unless there is a photo of him leaving with it or sticking it under his shirt, it's just a photo of a guy carrying a bottle of whiskey. We all carry merchandise in stores - so, watch out! The next photo you see posted by JPD/Empire might be of you!

Discretion

Couldn't you have said that the man is wanted for questioning rather than publicly convicting him of theft without any chance for rebuttal?

This is a small town and you don't know the whole story until this guy has a chance to defend himself.

Wake up people

I can't believe this guy is being defended. Why, because he's clean cut and doesn't fit your profile of a thief? Wake up! It's apparent that he's attempting to steal that bottle of liquor. Whether he did it or not, you don't go in a store and stuff things under your shirt. Look at his expression as he looks to see if the store clerk is watching him. Keep defending him and next he'll be going through your cars, homes to get his next fix. You all better wake up and smell the coffee and get out of your fantasy world.

Sorry MsDrs

But in that picture the bottle is not under his shirt. And you've had some pretty suspicious looks on your face in the past - didn't know that was against the law.

I'm assuming they have more definitive proof of a crime than just that picture, but for now this is all we know. See, in America there's this quaint concept of presumed innocence...

the pic...

the pic is a screen shot of video footage. if they posted this saying he stole the bottle, i'm sure the video supports it.

Obama

Had nothing to do with that guy. Instead of blaming everything on Obama so easily, maybe you guys should think a little about what's really at play here. He's a puppet made of strings to be pulled just like the rest of us. It's always 'Obama this, Obama that' on every article and you know what? I'm beginning to see how stupid humanity really is as a whole in this country. If we have the freedom to think for ourselves, pray tell the thinking is done right.

SHenry..

... is it possible, just possible, that a clerk saw him leave the store with the bottle without paying and when they reviewed the tape that the clerk identified him?

Just saying...

Pretty Sure

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't base all of their information on this one picture. There is most likely a video showing him walking out with the bottle. I know we have complaints about authorities here, but there is no way they can be dumb enough to release this picture without real evidence.

Pre-meditated!

This was a premeditated crime! The perp purposefully shaved his entire head - beard, mustache, and scalp - before the robbery, figuring that he would probably be caught on camera. Then, knowing how long it takes to get news stories and crime reports out in Juneau, he realized that when the picture is released to the public two months later, he will have a full head of hair with a mustache and a beard...the perfect crime!!!
