Police on Friday said they have finished investigating the death of a Juneau man who had survived a boat capsize and then later died at a Juneau residence.
Lt. David Campbell, a spokesman for the Juneau Police Department, said the JPD received a report from the State Medical Examiner Office on Monday.
The report listed the manner of death as accidental, and the cause of death was listed as “multi-drug intoxication,” Campbell said.
Campbell said he believed in layman’s terms that meant an accidental drug overdose. He did not say what drugs were involved except alcohol.
Police said earlier that Jim Brown Jr., 26, was found unconscious and not breathing in a residence in the 8000 block of North Douglas Highway on Dec. 2.
Only several days before, on Nov. 23, Brown had survived a boat capsize near Tenakee Springs that had drowned his two friends.

If you've been around the north country long enough you have been through these and similar tragedy's. This one is sad and unfotunate from beginning to end.
I regret the young man's actions and death even though the reasons may well be clear and understandable -at least to him. If you know the family do all you can to support them.

Sometimes "survivor's guilt"
Sometimes "survivor's guilt" is more then a person can bare. How very, very tragic for all involved. My heartfelt sympathy to his loved ones; his pain has ended, but those he leaves behind are left with unimaginable pain and grief. Stay close to your family and friends and you will get through this.
Dear Jimmy, You are missed.
