'Crime of the Week' is vehicle rifling, theft at Fred Meyer

The police are seeking information about a vehicle rifling and theft that took place in the Fred Meyer parking lot last month.

Sgt. Paul Hatch said in a news release that at 7 p.m. on Jan. 1, a citizen reported his or her truck had been entered, and that a Visa gift card, silver Gateway NE Series laptop and a black computer case were stolen.

An investigation revealed the vehicle was locked at the time, and entry into the vehicle was possibly gained by prying the rear window open.
