Christina Bruce applauds after receiving a singing valentine from Brownie Troop 4036 at the Juneau-Douglas City Museum on Thursday. Bruce, an administrative assistant at the museum, was sent the valentine by her boyfriend, Troy Choquette. The Brownie troop delivered 11 singing valentines on Thursday to help raise money for a summer trip to the Skyhigh Wilderness Ranch outside of Whitehorse. The troop is made up of second, third and fourth graders attending the Juneau Community Charter School, Gastineau Community School, Harborview Elementary School and home school.

Pederson Hill subdivision to go in front of Juneau Planning Commission

The Pederson Hill Subdivision is inching closer and closer to becoming a reality. The proposed subdivision will go before the Juneau Planning Commission on Tuesday, Feb. 28, for a preliminary plat approval and city project review, according to a release from the City and Borough of Juneau.

Native Issues Forum to discuss criminal justice reform

A Native Issues Forum is set for this coming Thursday on the topic of criminal justice reform. The guest speakers are Senator John Coghill, R-North Pole, the sponsor of Senate Bill 91, and Central Council Tlingit & Haida Public Safety Manager Jason Wilson. The forum is from noon to 1 p.m. at Elizabeth Peratovich Hall, 320 West Willoughby Ave., Juneau. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
