Fire damages empty trailer in Lemon Creek area

An apparent arson fire Monday afternoon caused approximately $10,000 in damage to an unoccupied trailer at 5577 Aisek Street in Lemon Creek, according to Fire Marshal Daniel M. Jager.

No injuries were reported. At 1:30 p.m. Monday a caller reported the trailer fire. Capital City Fire/Rescue arrived to find a double-wide unoccupied trailer with heavy smoke coming from the eaves. Fire crews entered the trailer and found fire in the ceiling. “They did a quick knock-down,” according to an early report by Act. Division Chief Ed Quinto.

The building was slated for demolition in the near future, according to a Quinto’s report.

This fire is being investigated by the Capital City Fire Marshal’s Office and Juneau Police Department. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fire Marshal’s Office at 586-5322 or Juneau Police Department at 586-0600 or the Juneau Crimeline.
