1 man arrested in heroin bust

Police say they arrested a 23-year-old Juneau resident Thursday in a drug investigation involving the delivery of heroin.

Juneau Police Department Lt. Kris Sell said in a release that Hans William Elliot Petaja was arrested at about 10:30 a.m. by JPD officers working with the Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs task force and federal officers from multiple agencies.

They received a warrant to conduct a controlled and supervised delivery of the drugs, then later after Petaja was in custody, served a search warrant at a residence on Threadneedle Street, according to the release.

Sell said Petaja is charged with a felony drug misconduct charge and is being held at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
