Treadwell Society wants your mining miscellaneum

It’s not Antiques Roadshow calling, but maybe that old “junk” gathering dust in your arctic entry might have some value.

The Treadwell Historic Preservation and Restoration Society is looking for artifacts from the old Treadwell Mine in Douglas. The society is working to create an online archive with photos and descriptions of objects related to the mine. The items could be anything from an old insulator to a piece of crockery.

You can make your contribution to local history by bringing your item to the society’s booth at Goldrush Days Saturday, June 22 between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. or Sunday, June 23 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
