Ribbon-cutting today for Glacier Highway extension

A vehicle drives the newly paved road to Cascade Point from Echo Cove on Sunday. The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Gov. Sean Parnell for Glacier Highway extension project today at 2:30 p.m.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Gov. Sean Parnell will be at a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday for the completed Glacier Highway extension.

The project extended Glacier Highway about three miles from Echo Cove to Cascade point and widened the existing road from 20 feet to 26 feet.

The public ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Glacier Highway just before Echo Cove.
