Capital Transit & Care-A-Van: A reminder to Capital Transit and Care-A-Van passengers. Buses and vans will not be operating on July 4, in recognition of the Independence Day Holiday. CBJ Docks & Harbors: On July 4, the Port Office (Seadrome Building) and the Auke Bay Harbor Office will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed noon to 1 p.m. for lunch) and the Port Field Office (Port Customs Building) will be operating from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Aurora Harbor Offices will be closed, but Harbor field staff will be on duty via cell phone/VHF radio. The Douglas Launch ramp will be congested due to the celebration and parade, therefore, the use of the ramp may be restricted.
Juneau International Airport: Open as usual for the traveling public. The Management and Badging offices will be closed on July 4 and reopened on July 5.
Juneau Police Department: Police Officers and Public Safety Dispatchers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. JPD’s administrative offices will be closed from 4:30 p.m. July 3 until 8 a.m. July 5.
Municipal Libraries: The Juneau, Valley and Douglas Public Libraries will close at 5 p.m. July 3. The Juneau, Valley, and Douglas Public Libraries will be closed July 4 in observation of the Independence Day holiday. Regular weekday hours resume on July 5. The book drops will be locked from 5 p.m. July 3 until 8 a.m. on July 5. Items due July 3-4 that are returned by the close of business (8 p.m.) July 5 will be checked in as though returned on July 3.
Parks & Recreation Facilities: Augustus Brown Pool, Dimond Park Aquatic Center and Juneau-Douglas City Museum will be closed on July 4
The Zach Gordon Youth Center will be closed on July 4 with regular hours during the rest of the holiday week.
Centennial Hall Convention Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 4.
