Police & Fire for Sunday, June 30, 2013

Assault

• At 7:46 p.m. Thursday, David A. Esparza, 43, was arrested for assault in the 100 block of Franklin Street, and he was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Alcohol was involved.

Assist

• At 8:08 a.m. Friday, a 14-year-old girl damaged property owned by her mother in the 9300 block of Glacier Highway. Damage estimated at $900.

Driving without a valid license

• At 11:33 p.m. Thursday, Chad O’Neal, 31, was cited for driving without a valid license in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway, and his vehicle was impounded.

• At 11:53 p.m. Thursday, Tyler Phillips, 19, was cited and released for driving without a valid license in the 900 block of 10th Street, and his vehicle was impounded.

• At 5:27 a.m. Friday, Charles R. Grosvold, 39, was cited and released for driving without a valid license in the 300 block of Willoughby Avenue, and his vehicle was impounded.

Drug activity

• At 2:17 p.m. Thursday, the Juneau Police Department conducted a confidential investigation into report of drug activity.

Drunken driving

• At 2:43 a.m. Friday, Dylan J. Eason, 19, was arrested on Glacier Highway on an outstanding Juneau Alaska State Troopers warrant charging violation of conditions of release. He was taken to LCCC and additionally cited for minor consuming.

Fire and medical

• At 1:07 a.m. Thursday, basic life support care was given to a man on Breese Street, and he was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 2:23 a.m. Thursday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on Creek Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 8:37 a.m. Thursday, basic life support care was given to a man on Salmon Creek Lane, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 8:48 a.m. Thursday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Douglas Highway, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 8:59 a.m. Thursday, Capital City Fire/Rescue was dispatched to Glacier Avenue for EMS. Upon arrival and checking surrounding neighborhood, no patient was found.

• At 9:24 a.m. Thursday, basic life support care was given to a man on 12th Street, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 12:15 p.m. Thursday, CCFR was dispatched to transport a female patient and Guardian Airlift team from BRH to Juneau International Airport.

• At 2 p.m. Thursday, basic life support care was given to a man on Jordan Avenue, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 6:08 p.m. Thursday, CCFR was dispatched to University Drive for a fire alarm, and alarm sounded due to overheated cooking oil.

• At 6:09 p.m. Thursday, CCFR was dispatched to Seward Street for a fire alarm at a business, and upon arrival, CCFR found construction in progress and no apparent reason for alarm sounding. No smoke or fire found.

• At 6:10 p.m. Thursday, CCFR was dispatched to Crow Hill Drive for a fire alarm at a multi-family residence, and no fire was found. Alarm sounded due to water that had leaked into a smoke detector.

• At 7:11 p.m. Thursday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on Willoughby Avenue, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 7:42 p.m. Thursday, CCFR was dispatched to Kanata Street, and upon arrival, the responsible party was found burning a television. She was advised she could not burn and to extinguish the fire. She was also advised the television had to be taken to the Hazardous Materials Collections for disposal.

• At 10:04 p.m. Thursday, basic life support care was given to a man on Franklin Street, and he was taken to BRH.

Minor consuming

• At 9:48 p.m. Thursday, Harley Williams, 20, was cited and released for minor consuming in the 3200 block of Hospital Drive.

Theft

• At 12:26 p.m. Thursday, a 40-year-old woman reported a stolen Kindle Fire in the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road.

• At 7:25 p.m. Thursday, JPD investigated a report of a theft in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway.

• At 8:08 a.m. Friday, a 57-year-old woman reported a stolen bicycle in the 9300 block of Glacier Highway.

Trespass

• At 4:16 a.m. Friday, JPD investigated a report of $300 damage to a 2005 Dodge truck and $350 worth of items being taken from the truck in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway.
