HGTV seeks cast for new show

Production company is seeking homebuyers and Realtors statewide

A production company is seeking homebuyers from the Lower 48 and local Realtors to star in a new series airing on HGTV.

Living Alaska is a travel and home show that follows homebuyers as they search for abodes in the Last Frontier.

The show’s production company, Orion Entertainment, says the show will follow a Realtor as they introduce prospective homebuyers to houses in Juneau and throughout the state.

“What we’re looking for is really anything wildly Alaska,” Cindy Baggish, Casting Producer for Orion Entertainment, said. “It has to be quintessential Alaska.”

Baggish is hoping to find anything and everything from the remote cabin to a new home in a rural area and homebuyers who are looking for an adventure of their own.

Twelve clients or couples and 12 Realtors will be selected for the final series. It will run for 12 episodes at 30 minutes each.

The production is hoping to begin filming soon and end in early October. There is no set date for when the show will air.

In the mean time, Baggish said they’re casting a wide net.

“We’re looking statewide. We may end up in Hoonah. We may end up in Kenai. Who knows?” she said. “We’re not looking for the cookie cutter houses.”
