Police and fire calls for July 19, 2013

Assault

• A 42-year-old man said he was assaulted on the 300 block of Village Street by a 43-year-old man. Alcohol and domestic violence were involved.

Burglary

• A 51-year-old man reported a burglary on the 800 block of Glacier Avenue at 6:09 a.m. Thursday.

Domestic violence

• A 23-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence assault and taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Fail to display CFEC triangle

On Thursday, Roy M. Smith, 63, of Juneau was cited by Wildlife Troopers for failing to have a vessel triangle plate for his commercially registered vessel. Fine $110.

Fire and medical calls

• Wednesday at 1:56 p.m. CCF/R was dispatched to Hospital Drive for emergency medical services, basic life support was provided and a male patient transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for further care.

• Wednesday at 6:40 a.m. on Glacier Highway CCF/R was dispatched for emergency medical services, advanced life support was provided and a female patient transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for further care.

• Wednesday at 6:50 a.m. on Shell Simmons Drive CCF/R was dispatched for emergency medical services, advanced life support was provided and a female patient transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for further care.

• Wednesday at 7:46 a.m. on Front Street CCF/R was dispatched for emergency medical services, advanced life support was provided and a male patient transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for further care.

• Wednesday at 2:38 p.m. on Front Street CCF/R was dispatched for emergency medical services, advanced life support was provided and a male patient transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for further care.

• Wednesday at 3:13 p.m. on Trafalgar Avenue CCF/R was dispatched for emergency medical services, advanced life support was provided and a female patient transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for further care.

• On Wednesday at 5:53 p.m. CCF/R went to Birch land dispatched for a residential fire. On arrival they found a single family home with smoke coming from the front door. The fire was contained to pot on stove from burnt food.

• Wednesday at 6:20 p.m. on Glacier Highway CCF/R responded to a vehicle accident with two injured females. Basic life support was provided the patients were transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for further care.

• Wednesday at 8:25 p.m. on Kiowa Drive CCF/R was dispatched for a burn complaint. The resident was burning weeds and other green vegetation, but she did not have burn permit, so the fire was extinguished by the resident.

• Wednesday at 11:23 p.m. CCF/R was dispatched to transport Airlift Northwest crew and patient from Juneau International Airport to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

Found property

• A backpack was turned over to the police substation downtown Thursday at 1:46 a.m.

• A wallet was found and turned over to police at 11:13 a.m. Thursday.

Motor vehicle crash/Damage only

• Thursday at 8:24 a.m. on the 300 block of Egan a 2003 Volkswagon GTI driven by a 53-year-old male was rear-ended by a 2006 Ford van driven by a 21-year-old male. The driver of the van was cited for failure to maintain a safe distance.

Motor vehicle collision/No injuries

• Wednesday at 1:33 p.m. on the 400 block of Gold Street a silver 2008 Toyota operated by a 64-year-old female struck a parked green 1994 Honda owned by a 57-year-old male.

Motor vehicle crash/Injury

• The driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital for evaluation following a single vehicle accident Wednesday at 6:20 p.m. on Auke Rec Bypass Road.

No crew license/Employ unlicensed crewman

On Thursday, Lesley J. Olson, 36, of Kodiak was cited by Wildlife Troopers for acting as a commercial crewmember without a valid 2013 license. Robert J. Becker, 41, of Juneau was cited for employing an unlicensed crewmember. Both men were fined $260.

Suspicious activity

• Wednesday at 8:20 p.m. Laura Chapin Heumann was cited and released for reckless endangerment.

Theft

• Items were reported stolen from a boat Wednesday at 3:57 p.m. on the 1200 block of Harbor Way.

• Wednesday at 4:36 p.m. police investigated the theft of medicine in what they said was a domestic dispute.

• Cash — $110 —was reported stolen Wednesday ay 4:12 p.m. on the 30000 block of Riverside Drive.

• A 56-year-old female reported Thursday that a wallet and a ceramic bowl stolen from her vehicle sometime during the night on the 9000 block of Long Run Drive.

• A 38-year-old man reported his wallet stolen Thursday morning.

Vandalism

• Wednesday at 3 p.m.. vandalism was reported to eight windows at a business on Egan Drive.
