Fiscal Year 2013 financial results for Bartlett Regional Hospital were favorable, a spokesman for the hospital said Tuesday.
“It would be accurate to say the board was encouraged by the results of FY2013,” said Jim Strader, director of community relations for BRH. “We were projecting a budget where we’d break even.”
Total year-end earnings were $4.1 million.
“The 3.5 percent rate increase was historically the lowest the hospital has ever done,” Strader said.
A forecasted inflationary increase in overall operating and supply costs last year prompted the rate increase for services as the budget was prepared last year.
“Through the work of the hospital directors and department managers,” he said, “they achieved a greater efficiency.”
Ken Brough, chief financial officer at BRH, was not available for comment by press time.
