Some rates rising at Eaglecrest Ski Area

The cost of a daily lift ticket at Eaglecrest Ski Area will go up by $1 this season.

The Eaglecrest Board hopes the increase will encourage the purchase of season passes. Season passes sold between Sept. 1 and Oct. 6 will not see an increase.

EarlyBird season passes sold between Oct. 7 and Nov. 2 will increase $20.

“We’ve managed to do pretty well in the past two years,” said Matt Lillard, ski area manager, adding that the increase helps cover operating costs.

The Eaglecrest finance committee last month recommended the board adopt the pricing changes. The increases passed unanimously Thursday night.

In other business, an update to the ski area’s learning center project was brought before the board. The initial cost estimate came back high, which lead to the downsizing of office and retail space originally planned in the center.

Plans for the center will be released to the public in coming weeks through the Eaglecrest website.

Also online, anyone interested in working at Eaglecrest during the upcoming season can go to to view openings.
