Heritage drive-thru coffee stand robbed

Police still searching for suspect

A drive-thru coffee stand near the airport was robbed at about 10 a.m. Monday morning, and police said they are still searching for the suspect.

The man reportedly walked into the Heritage Coffee stand, demanded money while revealing a weapon, then left the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Juneau Police Department spokeswoman Erann Kalwara. No injuries were reported, she said.

Police were on scene within five minutes of the call, but the suspect still remains at large, Kalwara said. As officers work on identifying the man, the police released his description and asked anyone who has information to call JPD at 586-0600.

The department said in a release the victim described the suspect as a white man in his early to mid-20s, 5’8” to 6’1” tall with a skinny build, short clean-cut black hair and a black goatee. The release stated he was wearing black skinny jeans, a black sweatshirt, black gloves with yellow markings, black shoes and sunglasses.

Kalwara said there were two people in the stand at the time of the incident, a 29-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man. There were multiple witnesses, she said.
