Approaching front may bring flooding Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a flood watch for the Juneau Borough and northern Admirality Island Wednesday.

An incoming front is expected to dump at least an inch of rain on the region, which, coupled with the weekend’s rainfall, could cause flooding in the rivers and streams.

Montana Creek in particular is expected to reach a minor flood stage and Jordan Creek will likely reach the upper bank level.

The amount and duration of the rainfall will determine the extent of flooding that may occur.

The watch is set to expire Wednesday evening.
