Police search for car that crashed into utility box

Police are searching for a vehicle that crashed into a utility box on Taku Boulevard last Monday and caused approximately $12,500 worth of damage to phone, cable and electrical equipment.

Juneau Police Department Lt. Kris Sell said the suspect vehicle fled the scene after the collision, which took place a few minutes after midnight on Oct. 14.

Sell said the man whose property the crash took place on reported the vehicle could have been, or is similar to, a Toyota Tacoma. The vehicle was damaged in the crash, and police recovered a driver’s side mirror and several other pieces of black plastic that broke off the car at the site.
