Change smoke alarms, clocks this Daylight Saving Time

Capital City Fire and Rescue is reminding Juneau residents to change the batteries in your home’s smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors on Sunday when you change your clock for Daylight Saving Time.

“Do not place you or your loved one at unnecessary risk,” CCFR Fire Marshal Dan Jager said. “Ensure that you have working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. The life you save may be your own. Do not become a statistic!”

Daylight Saving Time falls at about 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3.

CCFR also reminded residents that CCFR is available to answer any questions about this or any other fire emergency safety questions. CCFR provides free use of chimney cleaning brushes, free home safety checklists and handouts and free courtesy home safety surveys. Contact CCFR at 586-53622.
