$3,000 in food stolen from Foodland

Three thousand dollars worth of food was reported stolen from Foodland IGA, according to the Juneau Police Department Daily Bulletin.

JPD could not be reached for comment on Monday or Tuesday, but the bulletin specifies officers received the report of the theft at about 3:08 a.m. Monday. The investigation is ongoing.

When a manager at the downtown supermarket was reached by phone on Tuesday, he refused to comment.

“I can’t discuss it,” the manager, who only identified himself as John, said.

The store’s owner, the Seattle-based Myers Group, did not return phone messages by press time Tuesday.
