Troopers investigate assault at LCCC

Alaska State Troopers in Juneau are investigating a report of an assault between two inmates at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Troopers said in an online dispatch that the victim sustained non-life threatening injuries in the Monday attack and was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

The names of the people involved are not being released at this time because the incident is still under investigation and charges have not been filed, troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said Thursday.

Peters noted the trooper assigned to the case is off-duty and could not provide further details about the case.
