Police seek suspect in Travelodge theft

A thief stole a TV and sundry items from a Juneau hotel room in the fall, and now police are asking the public for help with the case.

Juneau police say the suspect was caught on video surveillance camera footage during the October incident, but they have not been able to identify him or her.

The theft took place sometime between midnight and 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 16 at the Travelodge Hotel, 9200 Glacier Highway, Juneau Police Department spokesman Lt. David Campbell said. The suspect made off with a Vizio brand television, a bedspread and a black bag containing clothing from one of the rooms, Campbell said.

Police did not release an image from the video footage or physical descriptors of the suspect, but they are hopeful someone knowledgeable about the case will report it to authorities.

Police encouraged anyone with information to call the JPD as 586-0600 or report a tip to the Juneau Crime Line at juneaucrimeline.com. The Crime Line guarantees anonymity and can reward tipsters with cash.
