Police & Fire for Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014

Death

• At 7:48 a.m. Monday, the Juneau Police Department investigated the death of a 75-year-old woman. Death is not considered suspicious and next of kin has been notified.

Domestic violence assault

• At 10:48 a.m. Monday, a 32-year-old woman was arrested for domestic violence assault, and she was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Alcohol was involved.

Fire and medical

• At 8:38 a.m. Friday, Capital City Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a carbon monoxide issue on Seward Drive. No issue found.

• At 8:42 a.m. Friday, advanced life support care was given to a man on Jennifer Drive, and he was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 11:01 a.m. Friday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on Glacier Highway, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 1:14 p.m. Friday, advanced life support care was given to a man on Ninth Street, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 1:40 p.m. Friday, CCFR responded to an EMS call on Fish Creek Road, and a woman was taken to BRH.

• At 2:18 p.m. Friday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on Fourth Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 2:50 p.m. Friday, CCFR took a man and flight crew from BRH to Juneau International Airport.

• At 3:41 p.m. Friday, CCFR was dispatched to take a patient from BRH to JIA. Transport cancelled due to weather at JIA.

• At 5:45 p.m. Friday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on Glacier Highway, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 5:57 p.m. Friday, CCFR responded to an EMS call on Mendenhall Loop Road, and a man was taken to BRH.

• At 6:06 p.m. Friday, CCFR responded to a vehicle fire on Granite Drive. Fire in glove compartment was smothered upon arrival. Remaining fire was extinguished, and area was cooled. Fire may have been caused by a car heater. No foul play suspected.

• At 6:47 p.m. Friday, CCFR responded to a fire alarm on Tongass Boulevard. No fire found. Alarm caused by burnt food.

• At 9:23 p.m. Friday, CCFR took a man and flight crew from BRH to JIA.

• At 9:25 p.m. Friday, CCFR took a man and flight crew from BRH to JIA.

• At 9:37 p.m. Friday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Franklin Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 9:45 p.m. Friday, basic life support care was given to a man on Marine Way, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 9:57 p.m. Friday, CCFR responded to a vehicle fire at the intersection of Harris and Fourth Streets. Fire was found coming from the front seat area and was extinguished. The flames may have originated in the engine compartment, although the cause is unknown.

• At 11:21 p.m. Friday, CCFR responded to an EMS call on Marine Way, and a woman refused medical care and transport.

• At 8:57 a.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to an EMS call on Stephen Richards Memorial Drive, and a man was taken to BRH.

• At 9:38 a.m. Saturday, CCFR took a man and flight crew from BRH to JIA.

• At 11:05 a.m. Saturday, basic life support care was given to a man on Great Western Street, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 2:45 p.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to an EMS call on Kanata Street, and a man was taken to BRH.

• At 3:29 p.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to an EMS call on Horizon Drive, and a man refused medical care and transport.

• At 4:18 p.m. Saturday, CCFR responded to an open burn complaint on Meadow Lane and found a fire in a fire ring. Owner was advised of the complaint and agreed to let the fire burn down.

• At 8:35 p.m. Saturday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on Ninth Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 4:49 a.m. Sunday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on Mendenhall Loop Road, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 1:42 p.m. Sunday, advanced life support care was given to a man on Marine Way, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 1:44 p.m. Sunday, CCFR responded to an EMS call on Great Western Street, and a man was taken to BRH.

• At 3:12 p.m. Sunday, CCFR responded to an EMS call on Mendenhall Loop Road, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 5 p.m. Sunday, CCFR responded to a vehicle accident on Glacier Highway. A woman was assessed and it was determined there were no injuries. The woman was taken to BRH in a privately owned vehicle.

• At 7:46 p.m. Sunday, basic life support care was given to a man on Willoughby Avenue, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 8:46 p.m. Sunday, advanced life support care was given to a man on Shell Simmons Drive, and he was taken to BRH.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 2:32 p.m. Sunday, JPD responded to a damage-only crash in the 2400 block of Douglas Highway. A 2010 Ford Explorer struck a parked 2006 ZAP Electric Vehicle, causing minor damage.

• At 5 p.m. Sunday, JPD responded to a damage-only crash in the 16800 block of Glacier Highway. The first vehicle was a 2001 Subaru Forester driven by a 22-year-old woman, and the second vehicle was a parked 2002 Ford 350. Total damage estimated at $8,000.

• At 7:26 p.m. Sunday, JPD investigated a reported hit-and-run in the 100 block of Seward Street. Damage only.

• At 7:51 a.m. Monday, JPD investigated a hit-and-run in the 2700 block of Sherwood Lane.

Theft

• At 9:59 a.m. Monday, JPD investigated the report of stolen construction tools taken sometime over the weekend in the 10400 block of Ann Coleman Road.
