Mallott raises $233K for gubernatorial campaign

Democratic-gubernatorial hopeful Byron Mallott has raised more than $233,000 since announcing his intention to run for governor last October.

The reporting period ran from October 2013 through Feb. 1, 2014, and Mallott’s $233,427 came from about 1,100 individual donations.

“I’m inspired by this strong show of support from Alaskans of all walks of life who believe it’s time for new leadership on education, the budget, health care and a host of other issues,” Mallott said in a press release. “We’re going to run a spirited campaign that unites Alaskans around common values and common sense, and we’re off to a great start.”

In 2010, Republican Gov. Sean Parnell raised about $215,000 during the same span, according to the press release from the Mallott campaign.

Parnell announced Wednesday more than $400,000 has been donated to his campaign from April 25, 2013, through January of this year.
