Domestic violence assault

• At 1:40 p.m. Sunday, a 25-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence assault, and he was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

• At 12:05 a.m. Monday, a 23-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence assault, and he was taken to LCCC. Alcohol was involved.

Fire and medical

• At 1:39 a.m. Sunday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Creek Street, and she was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital.

• At 3:02 a.m. Sunday, advanced life support was given to a man on Front Street, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 4:54 a.m. Sunday, life support care was given to a man on Willoughby Avenue, and he was taken to BRH.

• At 7:02 a.m. Sunday, basic life support care was given to a woman on Creek Street, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 10:05 p.m. Sunday, advanced life support care was given to a woman on Emily Way, and she was taken to BRH.

• At 10:51 p.m. Sunday, basic life support care was given to a man on Franklin Street, and he was taken to BRH.

Theft

• At 6:27 p.m. Sunday, a 51-year-old woman reported her gun was stolen in the 8100 block of Threadneedle Street. Investigation continues.

Traffic hazard

• At 11:37 p.m. Sunday, several items were found in the roadway on Glacier Highway near Coogan Drive, and they were placed into safekeeping at the Juneau Police Department.

This Day in Juneau History: Jan. 19, 1987

On Jan. 19, 1987, with revenues half of what they were the year before and an estimated budget deficit ranging from $700-$900 million, the 15th Alaska Legislature began working on the state’s enormous budget deficit. Everyone was present for the Legislature’s first day except for Sen. Frank Ferguson, D-Kotzebue, who resigned shortly after his election because of health problems. Taking his place was Kotzebue businessman and Native leader Willie Hensley, whom Gov. Steve Cowper appointed for the position until the 1988 elections.
