The Juneau School District has been in the market for a human resources director for a while, and on Thursday it named four finalists for the position.
The pool has been narrowed to Bering Strait School District’s Ted VanBronkhorst, North Pole High School Principal Bridget Lewis, JSD’s Cherish Hansen and interim JSD HR director Michael Grubbs, according to a district news release.
Lewis is a 1980 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School, according to her resume.
The candidates will go through a final round of interviews in Juneau next week, with a community meet-and-greet from 5:30 to 6 p.m. March 26 in City Hall’s Assembly Chambers. The reception will take place concurrently with the community event for Bartlett Regional Hospital’s CEO finalists in the hospital’s cafeteria.
Final interviews will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the University of Alaska Southeat’s Glacier View Room. Community members are welcome to sit in on the interviews and provide the hiring committee with feedback, the release stated.
The HR director job opening was posted online about 10 months ago, and applications closed earlier this month. In July 2013, Michael Grubbs of Vancouver, Wash., was named interim HR director.
The district recently reopened applications for its student services director position and is seeking a principal for Riverbend Elementary School.
