Good weather encourages speeders, JPD says

Posted: April 17, 2014 - 12:08am

The Juneau Police Department is reminding drivers to mind their speed while driving through construction work zones, especially on Egan Drive.

Lt. David Campbell said officers targeted speeders on Egan Tuesday morning and cited several people for exceeding the posted speed limit. One motorist was cited for driving 83 miles per hour in the work zone, Campbell said.

Tongue in cheek, Campbell noted in a press release that although Juneau’s weather is getting nicer, the speed limits around town have remained the same. He also noted that fines are double in marked construction work zones.

Its usually the same people

Its usually the same people that cause trouble year after year. Lets help enforcement out. Get the license # and call it in to JPD on thier non-emergency number 586-0600 . Time to push back on the growing rude and inconsiderate crowd.
