A Juneau man was arrested Friday after arranging to have sex with a 13-year-old girl who ended up being a Juneau police officer.
The arrest of 20-year-old Regal Robert Hudson was the result of one of several cases involving Hudson and sexual abuse of a minor, attempts of sexual abuse of a minor, online enticement and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to a Juneau Police Department news release. The cases were worked by detectives in Sitka and Juneau. On Saturday, at Hudson’s first court appearance, the assistant district attorney added charges from other cases for a total of eight felonies and one misdemeanor.
The investigation began for JPD in March, but had been ongoing in Sitka since January 2013, the release stated. At the same time the cases were being investigated in both towns, a JPD detective began texting Hudson, pretending to be a 13-year-old girl. The two arranged to meet for sex.
“When Hudson arrived at the location, he was greeted by several JPD officers and detectives,” the release stated.
The total list of charges brought against Hudson was: three counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the third degree (class B felony); two counts of attempted sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree (class C felony); three counts of online enticement of a minor (class C felony); and contributing to the delinquency of a minor (class A misdemeanor).
