The City and Borough of Juneau Assembly has released an official statement mourning the loss of Mayor Greg Fisk, who was found dead in his home Monday afternoon. The brief statement reiterated that the deputy mayor and Assembly member Mary Becker is now the city’s mayor.
City Manager Kim Kiefer was out of town on vacation at the time of Fisk’s death, but she will has cut her travels short and will be back in her office Thursday morning, Deputy City Manager Rob Steedle said in the statement.
Becker has rescheduled the business from Monday’s canceled Assembly meeting to its Dec. 21 meeting. Becker has not responded to several attempts for comment.
