Check your vessels over stormy weekend

The city is encouraging everybody who owns a boat to check their vessels as Juneau heads into a stormy weekend.

In a news release issued Friday, Docks and Harbors staff warned boat owners to make sure that their lines are secure, pumps are operating correctly and boats aren’t collecting water.

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement warning that portions of Southeast Alaska could receive between two to four inches of rainfall over the weekend. Strong winds are likely to accompany the heavy rain.
