The Canvas hosts ink drawing class

It takes confidence to draw with ink instead of in pencil, and a class this Saturday will help build that confidence.

The Canvas is hosting a figure drawing class with traveling artist Lindsay Carron, where attendees will learn about drawing techniques. The class is $75 and take place 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at The Canvas, located on Seward Street.

A live nude model will supply the subject matter for students on hand, and Carron will teach about drawing form and figure. There will be a few short studies and then one larger final drawing that participants can take home. The class is limited to adults.

The Canvas is holding numerous workshops this summer, including a pottery class that runs every Thursday in July, a silk painting class on July 17 and a printmaking class in August. Some of the classes fill up quickly, and those interested can head to canvasarts.org.
