Wherever Scott Guenther goes, chatter follows.
“I have it with me all the time,” he said, pointing to the handheld portable radio on his desk. “When I’m in the back, I’ve got it with me. When I’m go to the bathroom, I’ve got it with me. It’s like you’re never alone.”
Guenther has been a radio dispatcher for the Alaska State Troopers in Juneau for 30 years. The 55-year-old may finally get some peace and quiet: He’s retiring.
