Juneau Police Department is still trying to locate two outboard motors and the thief that stole them in mid-January.

A Juneau business owner reported the motors missing on the morning of Jan. 15, saying an unknown suspect stole the two motors off boats at a business on Industrial Boulevard.

Two 9.9 horsepower Yamaha — one blue, another grey — had been taken from the business within a couple of days of the report, he said. One of the outboards has identifying marks on the cover.

The investigation into the theft is still ongoing. It is Juneau Crime Line’s Crime of the Week. Anyone with information about the theft, or who may know the whereabouts of the motors, is encouraged to call JPD at 586-0600 or Juneau Crime Line at 523-7700. Tips can also be submitted electronically at juneaucrimeline.com.

Crime Line is a nonprofit organization aiding police agencies in their investigations. Tipsters are guaranteed anonymity and can be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
