Police seek wanted man after probation violation

A Juneau resident is wanted by police after failing to comply with the conditions of his probation, according to a release on Friday from the Juneau Police Department.

There’s a $500 Alaska State Troopers warrant out for Lester Allen Hunt, 28, whose original charge was first-degree burglary. A technical probation violation was filed on Feb. 22, according to online court records. Probation Officer Dusty Dumont said Friday that the violation was filed because Hunt tested positive for methamphetamine use.

Hunt is a white man with a shaved head and stands 5-foot-6. He has numerous tattoos on his face and head, including “certified” on his upper lip, “respect” under both of his eyes and a swastika on his head.

His original burglary charge was filed in May 2010, when a Juneau resident reported that his home had been burglarized three times in the span of a few days. Cash, medication and personal items were taken in the burglaries, according to a JPD press release at the time. Police investigated the burglarized and arrested Hunt, along with another 20-year-old Juneau resident.

Anybody with information about Hunt is asked to contact Juneau Crime Line at 523-7700 or JPD at 586-0600. People can also go to www.juneaucrimeline.com to report a tip. Tipsters are guaranteed anonymity, and might be eligible for a reward.
